The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has opened Envelope-1 for its Request for Selection (RfS) under the SIGHT Scheme (Mode-1-Tranche-II) to set up green hydrogen production facilities in India. The process saw participation from prominent companies, showcasing significant interest in green hydrogen production.
The total proposed production capacity under Bucket-I amounts to 620,000 metric tons per annum, while Bucket-II totals 6,500 metric tons per annum. Leading bidders for Bucket-I include AM Green Ammonia, Avaada GreenH2, L&T Energy Green Tech, Reliance Green Hydrogen, and Waaree Clean Energy, each proposing a capacity of 90,000 MT annually. Other notable participants include ReNew E-Fuels (55,000 MT) and Ocior Energy (20,500 MT).
For Bucket-II, smaller capacities were proposed, with ChemSepT Engineering and Nishal Enterprises submitting bids of 4,000 MT and 1,000 MT, respectively. This marks a significant step in India’s green hydrogen ambitions, promoting renewable energy transition through strategic production initiatives.
