Syensqo, a science company focused on developing groundbreaking solutions that support the sustainability ambitions of its customers, has launched Aquivion N+ 125D, a fluoro-ionomer produced using Syensqo’s proprietary new NFS (non-fluorosurfactant) technology. The new grade is commercially available worldwide and is intended for use in select hydrogen-related applications.
The launch of Aquivion N+ 125D is aligned with the company’s One Planet sustainability roadmap and represents the next step in Syensqo’s ongoing journey to voluntarily phase out the use of fluorosurfactants from the PFAS family of chemicals. This commitment, announced in 2022, involves transitioning to non-fluorosurfactant technology across all our product lines and manufacturing nearly 100% of fluoropolymers without fluorosurfactants by 2026.
We are proud to continue on the transition of our products to Non-Fluorosurfactant technology. This achievement stems from our intensified Research and Innovation efforts over recent years that enabled our commitment to phase out the use of fluorinated surfactants. This is particularly important as we aim to strengthen the role of our essential materials in the emerging hydrogen economy and our sustainability journey.
