EIA: Ethanol production down 3%, stocks up slightly, exports up 32%

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 3% the week ending March 7, according to date released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on March 12. Ethanol stocks were up slightly and exports expanded by 32%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.062 million barrels per day the week ending March 7, down 31,000 barrels per day when compared to the1.093 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending March 7 was up 38,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 27.276 million barrels the week ending March 7, up 87,000 barrels when compared to the 27.289 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending March 7 were up 1.494 million barrels. 

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 162,000 barrels per day the week ending March, up 39,000 barrels per day when compared to the 123,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending March 7 were up 38,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending March 7.
