SJVN Awards 1,200 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Contracts To Gentari, Juniper Green, EG Energy, Sunsure, And Datta Infra At ₹3.19/kWh

SJVN Limited recently held an auction for 1,200 MW of wind-solar hybrid power projects, awarding contracts to five companies at a tariff of ₹3.19 per kilowatt-hour (kWh). Gentari Renewables India Utilities emerged as the largest bidder, securing 400 MW. Juniper Green Energy and EG Energy Development each won 300 MW, followed by Adyant Enersol (Datta Infra) with 70 MW, and Sunsure SolarPark RJ One, which secured 130 MW despite initially bidding for 150 MW.

All five companies bid with the same tariff, showing strong competition and alignment in price expectations. Gentari’s 400 MW award marks the largest allocation, reflecting the company’s active interest in expanding its renewable energy footprint in India. Juniper Green Energy and EG Energy Development’s success in securing 300 MW each also highlights their commitment to renewable energy investments. Meanwhile, Adyant Enersol and Sunsure SolarPark RJ One contributed to the full allocation by winning smaller, but strategically significant shares.

This auction is part of SJVN’s ongoing plan to develop renewable energy projects connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) across India. These projects are expected to play a significant role in enhancing India’s clean energy capacity, especially with the government’s goal to expand renewable energy infrastructure. The allocation of 1,200 MW through this auction supports India’s Wind-Solar Hybrid Policy, which aims to improve grid stability and transmission efficiency by combining wind and solar power.

SJVN, a joint venture between the Government of India and Himachal Pradesh, was the designated Renewable Energy Implementing Agency for this initiative. The new projects will contribute significantly to India’s renewable energy mix, aligning with national objectives for sustainable growth and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s policies for grid optimization.
