NEW DELHI: Sugar shares closed higher in the Friday's session.
Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd.(up 1.86%), KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 1.14%), Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd.(up 0.36%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 0.22%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 0.19%) stood among the top gainers.
DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.(down 1.82%), Mawana Sugars Ltd.(down 1.66%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 1.50%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)Ltd.(down 1.45%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(down 1.39%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(down 1.05%), Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(down 1.02%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(down 0.95%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 0.87%) and Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(down 0.75%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 21.7 points up at 24323.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 53.07 points at 79996.6.
Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 4.03%), State Bank of India(up 2.44%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 2.23%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 2.23%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 2.05%), Cipla Ltd.(up 1.97%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.89%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.85%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.84%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.67%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 4.58%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 2.0%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.9%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.77%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.7%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.6%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 0.6%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.46%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 0.39%) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.23%) closed in the red.
