Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a leading player in India’s renewable energy sector and a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rajasthan’s Discoms—Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL), Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (AVVNL), and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JDVVNL). This strategic collaboration aims to accelerate renewable energy adoption and energy conservation across Rajasthan, with a key focus on promoting the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG:MBY) in the residential sector.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Additional Chief Secretary – Energy, Mr. Alok; Chairperson of the Discoms, Ms. Arti Dogra; and the Managing Directors of JVVNL and AVVNL. Representing TPREL were Deepesh Nanda, MD & CEO, and Shivram Bikkina, Chief – Solar Rooftop & EV Charging Business. Senior officials from PMSG:MBY, including the Chief Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Director Technical, also attended.
Under this partnership, TPREL and the Rajasthan Discoms will jointly promote rooftop solar adoption through awareness campaigns, making clean energy more accessible to residential customers. Initial efforts will focus on Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, and Bikaner, with plans to expand statewide. The collaboration will also provide exclusive pricing and vendor training to streamline solar installations, reinforcing Rajasthan’s renewable energy push.
