Turkish agency seeks cooperation in cotton sector

MULTAN: A delegation from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) visited the Central Cotton Research Institute (CCRI) in Multan on Wednesday to explore potential collaboration in the cotton sector.

The high-level TIKA delegation, led by Country Coordinator Ms. Saliha Tuna and comprising three members, was briefed by CCRI scientists on their research activities, achievements, and ongoing projects.

CCRI Director Dr Muhammad Naveed Afzal welcomed the delegation and highlighted the institute’s decades-long involvement in cotton research, development of new varieties, disease control, and the promotion of modern agricultural technology.

He emphasised CCRI’s contribution to providing quality raw materials for Pakistan’s textile industry and improved income opportunities for growers.
